Blood oxygen level is the amount of oxygen circulating in the blood. Having the right amount of oxygen in your blood is essential for your health. Low blood oxygen levels can be caused by a variety of factors, such as asthma, heart disease, anaemia, etc. This condition is called hypoxemia. Research has shown that people who breathe through their mouths have an increased amount of deoxyhemoglobin as compared to those with nasal breathing.

How to optimize mouth tapes to increase blood oxygen
• Vaseline may be applied around your lips before you apply tape. It might help you with the stickiness on your lips when you wake up.
• It may not be a wise idea to use duct tape. Use surgical tape instead.
• Consider folding the tape from both ends to make it easier for you to pull back the tape in case you want to drink water at night.

Taping your mouth improves your sleep quality. Consider doing this practice at night while sleeping. Additionally, breathing through the nose helps increase blood oxygen by 15% over the mouth. Practice taping your mouth during the day so you can get used to it and do it while sleeping.
